Verve AI review: Verve Copilot's free plan, pricing, stealth claims and refund rules

Is Verve AI legit, and is it the same as Verve Copilot?

Verve AI is a real product from a named company, VERVE AI Inc., which LinkedIn lists as founded in 2024 in San Jose, California, with 2 to 10 employees. It is also what people mean by Verve Copilot: the product's full name is Verve AI Interview Copilot, and it lives at vervecopilot.com. Verve AI publishes its pricing, terms of service (updated April 1, 2026) and a refund policy, and its Free plan needs no card, so you can check it yourself before paying.

A few things are harder to verify. The About page lists its founders by first name only (Ryan, Joe and Claire), no funding is publicly disclosed, and the company's own user counts disagree: "50,000+ active candidates" on the home page and "10k+ job seekers" on the About page. Outside ratings are small samples, covered in the user section below.

What the product does: during a live interview on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Webex, Verve AI listens to the question and "suggests responses based on your background". It also sells an Online Assessment Copilot, coding help through a Chrome extension, AI mock interviews with reports, and resume and cover letter tools, in 55+ languages on the web, macOS, Windows and iPhone.

What happened when we tried to sign up for Verve AI?

Our automated test browser was stopped by Verve AI's sign-up CAPTCHA on September 18, 2026, but in a regular desktop Chrome window the sign-up worked and we reached the Free plan dashboard and mock setup. We practiced no answer: the mock is voice based, and it did not launch in our session, where we had granted no microphone.

The home page opens with the badge "100% It's undetectable. Here's why!", a "Get Started For Free" button and a "Download Desktop App" button that downloads a macOS installer. Sign-up asks for first name, last name, email and password, with Apple, GitHub, Google and LinkedIn as alternatives, and no card or phone number. Pressing Continue twice returned the same banner: "The CAPTCHA failed to load. This may be due to an unsupported browser or a browser extension." About 38 seconds had passed since we opened the home page.

That first browser was automated and headless, the kind of setup human checks are built to stop, and the check on our own site's free practice box failed in it too. So we gave Verve AI the same second chance our site got: a regular desktop Chrome window. The CAPTCHA passed, and the verification code arrived by email in under 10 seconds. The dashboard opened as a Free account with a tour and a three step playbook ("Upload resume, Run a mock, Launch Copilot"). The Mock Interview Launchpad let us pick 200 behavioral questions, then asked for an interview profile, where a resume upload is mandatory. After we built one, we clicked "Launch mock" twice and the mock did not start. We had not granted a microphone, our Chrome window was in the background, which may also have played a part, and Verve AI's docs say questions and "your responses are transcribed", so the mock is voice based; we saw no text answer option. No card was asked for at any point.

What does Verve AI promise that we could not check?

We did not get as far as a mock question, a report or the copilot, so this section is Verve AI's own description. The AI Mock Interview page promises to "Run realistic mock interviews with recruiters from top companies" and to "Get a transcript and notes on exactly what to improve after each session". Its demo card scores "Addresses the prompt" and "Answer quality (structure & depth)", with coaching chips such as "STAR structure" and "Quantify impact". The pricing page lists "Reasoning Models" on Pro and names GPT-5.4, Claude 4.6 Sonnet and Gemini 3.1 Pro, and the home page claims latency "under 300ms".

The demo card is marketing art. We cannot tell you whether real reports look like it, whether the AI interviewer follows up on your answers, or whether the copilot keeps pace with a fast interviewer.

How much does Verve AI cost, and when can you get a refund?

Verve AI costs $0 on the Free plan, $44.99 a month for Standard billed monthly or $16.99 a month billed yearly, and $84.99 a month for Pro billed monthly, as of September 18, 2026, and it refunds only unused plans or verifiable technical failures on its side. The full grid in USD:

• Free: $0 for 3 copilot sessions of 15 minutes, 5 AI mock interviews, 5 reports and Stealth Mode.
• Standard: $44.99 a month billed monthly, $39.99 a month billed quarterly, or $16.99 a month billed yearly. 60 minute copilot sessions and unlimited mock interviews.
• Pro: $84.99 a month billed monthly, $59.99 quarterly, or $34.99 yearly. Unlimited 90 minute copilot sessions, reasoning models and unlimited reports.
• Enterprise: from $10 a session, pay as you go.

Three details change what you pay. Every card shows a monthly figure and no total, so the $16.99 Standard rate adds up to $203.88 over the year it commits you to, and the quarterly rate works out to $119.97 per charge. The number of Standard copilot sessions depends on billing: the annual card lists 60, the quarterly card 15 and the monthly card 5, which is also the figure in the comparison table. And the page showed us Brazilian reais until we changed the currency selector.

For a single interview, the arithmetic is simple: the Free plan costs nothing, and one Standard month costs $44.99 with no commitment beyond that month.

Refunds are narrow. The policy, last updated June 16, 2024, covers "a verifiable technical issue on our end" or a subscription you "did not use at all", requested "while your subscription is active or within 5 business days after subscription deactivation". Accounts suspended for breaking the terms get nothing back, and the pricing page carries no money-back promise. If you plan to use a paid plan even once, treat the payment as final.

Is Verve AI's Stealth Mode really undetectable?

No published test we found settles whether Verve AI's Stealth Mode can be detected; what exists are Verve AI's claims on one side and a detection vendor's claims on the other. Verve AI's pricing page says Stealth Mode "Stays undetectable during screen sharing and remains visible only to you", its home FAQ says it is "designed to keep interview copilot visible to you only even when you are sharing your screen", and unlike some copilots it includes Stealth Mode on the Free plan.

HackerRank, which sells interview proctoring, says its session replay "captures a screenshot of the candidate using an external tool" (HackerRank). That is a vendor claim too. An in-person round removes the question entirely, because there is no screen for a copilot to sit on.

The rules question is separate from detection. Amazon's recruiter guidelines, as reported in 2025, ask candidates not to use generative AI tools during interviews "unless explicitly permitted" and warn of disqualification (IT Pro). Verve AI's own terms ban illegal use and account sharing but say nothing about what an employer allows in its interviews. Stealth Mode changes what the screen shows, not what an employer permits, so the recruiter's instructions are the thing to read. Many candidates use copilots where no rule forbids them. What do Verve AI users say?

Verve AI has only 15 Trustpilot reviews as of September 18, 2026, mostly five-star (60 percent) or one-star (33 percent), so the sample is small (Trustpilot).

• Positive reviews credit the live transcription and the structure of suggested answers with calmer interviews.
• Cost is a complaint: one reviewer wrote, "Imagine having to pay $323 to secure a job as a Job seeker."
• Support is another, with one reviewer writing that "customer service is not responding".

The Verve AI Chrome extension shows 4.8 from 53 ratings and 2,000 users on the Chrome Web Store, with a last update on October 9, 2024. Interview Coder, a competing copilot, calls Verve AI's setup "heavy and busy" because it spans several apps and extensions in its own review; read that as a rival's view.

Is Verve AI worth paying for?

Verve AI is worth trying if you want a live copilot, because the Free plan lets you judge it at no cost. Five mock interviews and three short copilot sessions are enough to see whether the suggestions keep up with a real conversation, and $16.99 a month is low for a yearly copilot plan.

Paying month to month without that trial is harder to recommend. At $44.99 for Standard or $84.99 for Pro, with refunds limited to unused or broken plans, a disappointing first week costs the full month. It is also the wrong purchase if your target employer bans AI help or runs its rounds in person.

With an interview in one to three days, open the Free plan tonight in a normal browser, run one of its five mock interviews to see whether the feedback is specific to what you said, and read the recruiter's instructions before deciding whether a copilot belongs in the real call. If what you want is to say your answers out loud a few times before the interview, a practice tool is the closer fit.

Which tools compete with Verve AI?

Verve AI's closest rivals are other copilots, and the two we reviewed cost more per month; practice tools replace the copilot with rehearsal. Prices are as of September 18, 2026.
