Is Yoodli an interview tool or a speaking coach?
Yoodli (yoodli.ai) is a speaking coach that includes interview practice, while Mock Interview Pro is an interview practice tool and does nothing else. After signup, Yoodli offered interview preparation as one of four onboarding paths next to sales deals, speeches and coaching, and the company now sells mainly to employers training their staff; our Yoodli review covers who it is built for. Individuals can still sign up and use the same roleplays on their own.
That breadth helps if your job also involves presenting or selling: one subscription covers the interview and the pitch. Mock Interview Pro starts from the job instead. You enter the posting, the company and the round, and a paid session is a voice interview whose questions come from those inputs. Mock Interview Pro says a paid session scores each answer, gives one prioritized fix and rewrites it, and that its interviewer asks follow-up questions; spoken sessions are not on its free tier, so our test saw that feedback format only on the typed practice box and could not verify the follow-ups.
Does Yoodli's AI interviewer push back on vague answers?
Yes: in our test, Yoodli's interviewer asked three follow-up questions in about 2.5 minutes, each tied to what we had just said. After our story about refusing a sales team's custom feature request, it asked "what was your main concern? Was it about the roadmap priorities, or were there other factors like resource constraints or technical debt?" When our looping recording replayed the same story, it said "I think I'm hearing the same story twice here." The screenshot below shows that moment.
This is the strongest thing Yoodli's free plan offers: Mock Interview Pro's free practice is typed, and its spoken interviewer starts with the $39 pass. Being interrupted by a reasonable question you did not prepare for is what reading answers in your head cannot simulate, and Yoodli lets you feel it for $0. One practical note: the interviewer opens with small talk ("How are you doing?") and only asks a question once you reply, so treat the first seconds like a real call.
Our test had a limit worth knowing. Our simulated microphone looped one recorded answer, so the candidate never answered a follow-up properly, and we saw how Yoodli asks follow-ups rather than how it grades a good reply to one.
Does Yoodli or Mock Interview Pro rewrite your actual answer?
Yoodli and Mock Interview Pro both critiqued the substance of our stakeholder story in our test, but only Mock Interview Pro rewrote the answer itself; Yoodli offered a model answer with placeholders. G2 reviewers say Yoodli judges how you speak more than what you say, and one r/csMajors commenter said Yoodli "felt off for my role" (Reddit). Yet on our story, its coaching said: "For Result, 'it worked out okay and the customer was happy' is too thin." It also told us to replace "communication is really important" with something specific we changed afterward.
The difference is in what you take away. Yoodli gave a shortened version of one of our sentences and, separately, a model STAR answer with placeholders such as "Adoption went from X to Y". It shows the shape of a good answer, not your story improved. Mock Interview Pro's free practice box returned an edited version of our own typed answer with the additions highlighted, next to a score and one fix explaining why it matters and how to apply it.
Read any rewrite against what you actually did. In our test, Mock Interview Pro's rewrites kept some placeholders of their own, and one added a claim the candidate never made, so treat them as drafts to correct rather than scripts. Neither tool's score is a calibrated measure of readiness either; Yoodli's 30% on this story was dragged down by an active listening score our looping audio caused. Where does Yoodli's delivery feedback beat Mock Interview Pro?
Yoodli measures delivery in far more detail: its Analytics tab reports pace, filler words, weak words, conciseness and how many sentences start with "I", none of which Mock Interview Pro's typed practice can measure. In our first session, where the recording looped one computer-voiced answer about six times without pausing, it said "Pacing 197 words/minute. Your pace was fast. Try speaking slower than 170 WPM", counted 6 weak words and flagged 26% excess wording. The repetition likely inflated the last two numbers, so read them as a demonstration of what Yoodli measures, not a verdict on a normal answer.
If a past interviewer told you that you rambled, rushed or said "um" a lot, Yoodli goes straight at that problem. Mock Interview Pro lists presence feedback for its video sessions, but video needs the 1-Year or Lifetime Pass and we did not test it. Yoodli also scored eye contact, which we cannot judge because our camera showed a test pattern.
Does Yoodli or Mock Interview Pro know your target company's interview?
Mock Interview Pro is built around the company and round; Yoodli is built around the role and the rubric. Mock Interview Pro's free interview plan researches the company's interview rounds, lists them with sources and, after you enter an email, builds a practice plan before the paywall; the full company research report comes with the 1-Year and Lifetime Passes.
Yoodli's "Create from a job description" builder took our pasted posting and, in about 8 seconds, read the role as "Senior Product Manager, Collaboration" while leaving the company as "Not specified". Yoodli also publishes company question guides for employers such as Google, Coca-Cola and Target. Its default interviewer was a friendly manager persona with two rubric items, active listening and the STAR method, which fits a behavioral round well and a case or technical round less so.
Is Yoodli's $11 month cheaper than Mock Interview Pro's $39 pass?

Yoodli's pricing page says it "does not offer refunds on cancellation"; canceling stops the next charge, and access runs to the end of the period. Can Yoodli or Mock Interview Pro help during the real interview?
Yoodli's interview page advertises real-time private nudges inside Zoom, Teams and Google Meet, including during actual interviews; those nudges coach delivery rather than supplying answers. Mock Interview Pro runs nothing during the real interview; it is practice before it. If you plan to run any tool in a live interview, check what that employer allows first.
How we tested
On September 18, 2026 we used both products on their free tiers without paying. On Yoodli we signed up for the Starter plan, built an interview from our Senior Product Manager job description and ran two voice roleplays with a pre-recorded answer played through a simulated microphone; the recording looped, so the interviewer's follow-ups went unanswered and the speech analytics describe a repeated, computer-generated answer. On Mock Interview Pro we went through the free interview plan to the paywall and typed the same stakeholder answer into the free practice box on the product manager question page. We could not test either product's paid tiers, Mock Interview Pro's spoken sessions or follow-ups, or Yoodli's meeting nudges.
On September 18, 2026 we tested Yoodli on the free Starter plan in an automated desktop Chrome browser, with a pre-recorded spoken answer played through a simulated microphone and a camera test pattern. Signup took an email, name and password plus email verification, with no card or phone. We chose Interview preparation, pasted our Senior Product Manager job description into Create from a job description (the role was parsed, the company left as Not specified) and ran two voice roleplays. In the second, the AI interviewer asked three follow-up questions in about 2.5 minutes, each specific to our answer, and said "I think I'm hearing the same story twice here." Feedback appeared 13 seconds and about 24 seconds after we clicked Save & View Analysis, with a score (22% and 30%), STAR and active listening rubric scores, coaching that quoted our own sentences, and analytics on filler words, weak words, conciseness, sentence starters and pace. Our recording looped one answer, so the candidate never answered a follow-up properly and the active listening scores reflect our setup; eye contact scores mean nothing because our camera showed a test pattern. We used 2 of the 5 free roleplays and did not test typed Practice Questions, uploaded recordings, real-time meeting nudges or any paid plan.
