Mock Interview Pro vs Huru AI: recorded answers or an interviewer built for your round

Mock Interview Pro team

We make Mock Interview Pro, so we compete with Huru. We tested both products ourselves, dated every price, and linked our sources so you can check them. How we test

Short answer

Choose Huru to record video answers to job-based questions on a cheap subscription, and Mock Interview Pro to rehearse one company's round with a paid, refundable pass. Huru reached a first question in about 110 seconds in our test, but its free trial stopped after 2 answers, and plans cost $24.99 a month or $99 a year with no refunds. Mock Interview Pro costs $39 once for 30 days and 3 voice mock interviews, with no auto-renewal and a 14-day refund. Prices as of September 18, 2026.

Choose Huru if

  • You face a one-way video screen and want to record answers on camera, watch them back and get notes on how you came across.
  • You will practice for many months, and $99 a year for unlimited recorded interviews fits better than a pass, as long as you accept that Huru never refunds a payment.
  • You want to practice in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French, or in an iPhone app, which Mock Interview Pro does not have (it is web only).
  • You browse job boards in Chrome and want to turn any listing into a mock interview with an extension.

Choose Mock Interview Pro if

  • You have a round coming up at a named company and want the practice built from that posting, that company and that round.
  • You want each answer scored, with one prioritized fix and a rewrite of what you actually said.
  • You would rather pay once ($39 for 30 days, or $59 for a year of unlimited voice mock interviews) with a 14-day refund than sign up for a subscription that renews.

Does Huru's interviewer react to what you say?

No: Huru records answers to a fixed list of 5 questions and never responds, while Mock Interview Pro runs a spoken interview built from your posting. In our test on September 18, 2026, Huru (huru.ai, often called Huru AI) gave each answer a 2-minute recording limit, processed the clip when we stopped, and moved to the next question with no comment and no follow-up. That makes Huru closer to a one-way video screen, where a candidate records answers for a recruiter to watch later, than to a conversation with a hiring manager.

For one-way screens, that format is the point. You get used to a camera, a timer and silence after you finish, and a tips panel beside each question suggests what to cover and a framework before you press record.

Mock Interview Pro is built around a live exchange: an AI interviewer asks questions from your posting and round in a voice session, and Mock Interview Pro says that interviewer follows up on your answers. We make the product and could not verify follow-ups for free, because spoken sessions need a pass. If your next round is a live conversation where someone will ask "why did you do that?", rehearsing with pushback matters more than recording into silence.

Which gives more useful feedback on one answer, Huru or Mock Interview Pro?

In our test, Huru's free trial answered our spoken conflict answer with one paraphrasing paragraph and no score, while Mock Interview Pro's free practice box answered a typed answer with a score, one fix and a rewrite in 7.2 seconds. Huru's free Accuracy tab said our answer "lacks specific strategies that you employed during the de-escalation process", which is fair advice, but it did not quote our words or tell us how to rewrite them. Huru's grammar, confidence and model-answer feedback is paid, and the trial stopped after 2 recorded answers; our Huru review covers that trial wall in detail.

The two free experiences are not the same kind of practice. Huru's feedback follows a spoken, on-camera answer; Mock Interview Pro's free feedback follows a typed answer on its public interview question pages, and spoken answers need a pass. Our methodology page has the full Mock Interview Pro test, including where its scores ran generous.

Which one coaches how you come across on camera, Huru or Mock Interview Pro?

Huru is the camera-first tool of the two, and it keeps your recordings so you can watch yourself back. Huru says its feedback covers pace, pauses, filler words and facial expressions, and its organizations page mentions "body language and vocal tone". Those tabs were locked on our free trial and our camera showed a test pattern, so we could not judge that feedback. Even without it, replaying a two-minute answer shows you the habits a one-way screen will expose, such as looking away from the lens or trailing off at the end.

Mock Interview Pro's delivery feedback is tied to its video interviewer, which needs the $59 1-Year Pass or the $249 Lifetime Pass. Mock Interview Pro says those sessions include presence feedback; our free test could not reach them. The $39 pass is voice only, so it coaches what you say rather than how you look. If being on camera is the part that worries you, start with Huru.

How closely does each tool follow the job you applied for?

Both start from the posting; Mock Interview Pro also starts from the company and the round. Huru turned our pasted job description into role-specific questions, and its Chrome extension can do the same from a listing on a job board. It did not ask for the company or the stage of the process, and its stock interviews are organized by career role (242 roles in 29 categories) and by theme, such as Conflict Resolution.

Mock Interview Pro asks for the posting, the company and the round up front. Its free interview plan lists the company's interview rounds with sources and builds a practice plan for the one you pick; the full company research report comes with the 1-Year and Lifetime Passes, not the $39 pass. We found no company research feature in Huru. For a first-round screen with generic questions, that gap matters little. For a hiring manager or panel round at a specific company, it matters more.

Which one gets you answering a question sooner, Huru or Mock Interview Pro?

Huru gets you answering sooner: in our test, its first question was on screen about 110 seconds after we landed on huru.ai, with no card, including about 20 seconds waiting for the sign-in email. It took about 7 seconds to turn our posting into 5 questions, and the first one read: "How do you approach defining and communicating the strategy for new collaboration features in a B2B SaaS environment?"

Mock Interview Pro is slower to reach speaking because speaking is paid. Its free interview plan runs about 20 screens and an email, then stops at the passes, so a free user never answers out loud there. If you want to hear yourself answer a question in the next two minutes without paying, Huru is the quicker route.

Huru is cheaper for a month, Mock Interview Pro is cheaper for a year, and only Mock Interview Pro refunds. Prices as of September 18, 2026:

  • An interview this week. Huru: $24.99 for a month of the monthly plan, which renews unless you cancel. Mock Interview Pro: $39 once for the 1-Month Pass, with 3 voice mock interviews built from your posting over 30 days and feedback the paywall labels Basic AI feedback.
  • A month of applications. Huru: still $24.99, with unlimited recorded interviews. Mock Interview Pro: $39, or $59 once for the 1-Year Pass if you want unlimited voice mock interviews.
  • A search that runs for months. Huru: $99 billed upfront for a year, shown as $8.25 a month. Mock Interview Pro: $59 once for the 1-Year Pass, 365 days.

The terms differ more than the numbers. Huru treats every monthly and yearly payment as final, with no refund "prorated or otherwise", so a yearly charge you regret is spent. Mock Interview Pro's passes do not renew and carry a 14-day refund. Huru's two paid plans have the same features, so the monthly plan is the cautious way to try it. Huru's tips also cite unsourced figures and its Android app is gone from Google Play; our Huru review covers both.

Huru or Mock Interview Pro with a one-way screen or live round two days away?

Match the tool to the round. If the next step is a one-way recorded screen, spend Huru's two free answers on the two questions you most fear, watch the recordings back, and pay $24.99 only if you need more takes on camera. If the next step is a live round with a hiring manager, the $39 pass gives you three spoken mock interviews built from the posting before the day. Typing one answer into a free question page first shows you where the story is thin. For more options, see our list of AI mock interview tools or the HireVue practice tools for recorded screens.

Questions people ask

Which is better for a HireVue or other one-way video interview, Huru or Mock Interview Pro?

Huru, for that format. It records timed video answers with no interviewer reaction, which is what a one-way screen feels like, and costs $24.99 for a month as of September 18, 2026. Mock Interview Pro runs a live voice interviewer, closer to a hiring manager round; its video interviewer needs the $59 1-Year Pass.

Can you use Huru and Mock Interview Pro together?

Yes, and they cover different rounds. Use Huru's recorded answers to get comfortable on camera for a one-way screen, and Mock Interview Pro's spoken sessions built from the posting for the live round that follows. A month of Huru plus the $39 pass costs $63.99, as of September 18, 2026.

Is Huru cheaper than Mock Interview Pro?

For one month, yes: $24.99 against $39. For a year, no: Huru's $99 against the $59 1-Year Pass. Huru refunds no payment, while Mock Interview Pro refunds within 14 days and never renews. Prices as of September 18, 2026.

Do Huru and Mock Interview Pro work on a phone?

Huru has an iPhone and iPad app, a web app and a Chrome extension, but its Android app is no longer on Google Play as of September 18, 2026. Mock Interview Pro has no app on either platform; it runs in a web browser. If you want to practice on an iPhone app, Huru is the only one of the two that offers it.

How we tested

On September 18, 2026 we used both products without paying. On Huru we started the free trial with an email magic link, generated an interview from our Senior Product Manager job description, then recorded two answers in its Conflict Resolution interview with a pre-recorded answer played through a simulated microphone and a camera test pattern; our second recording caught only about 10 seconds. On Mock Interview Pro we went through the free interview plan to the paywall and typed answers into the free practice box on the product manager question page. We could not test either product's paid tiers, Huru's delivery and facial expression feedback, or Mock Interview Pro's spoken sessions and follow-ups. We make Mock Interview Pro.

On September 18, 2026 we signed up for Huru's free trial by email magic link in an automated desktop Chrome browser, with a pre-recorded spoken answer played through a simulated microphone and a camera test pattern. We pasted our Senior Product Manager job description; Huru generated 5 questions in about 7 seconds, and the first question was on screen about 110 seconds and 7 steps after we landed on the homepage, with no card. Its questions did not include our script's questions, so we recorded answers in its Conflict Resolution behavioral interview. Huru moved to the next question after each answer with no follow-up and no feedback during the interview. Feedback on answer 1 was waiting in Results within 2 minutes 34 seconds; the free view showed only an Accuracy tab that paraphrased the answer, with no score. Only about 10 seconds of answer 2 were recorded because of our timing, and Huru said "Not enough data to assess your answer". After those 2 answers the trial disabled practice and results. We could not test a full 5-question session, the Grammar, Confidence and Tips tabs as a paying user sees them, the iOS app or the Chrome extension, and our camera test pattern means we could not judge facial expression feedback.
