Is Big Interview a course or a mock interview tool?

Big Interview is mainly a course with practice attached, while Mock Interview Pro is a mock interviewer with no course. Big Interview, from Skillful Communications and co-founded by career coach Pamela Skillings, is built around 170 video lessons, learning paths and an answer builder, with a practice simulator and AI feedback on top. Mock Interview Pro skips the teaching: it runs spoken mock interviews for one target job and scores each answer.

That difference should drive the choice more than any feature list. If you have never been taught how to tell a story in an interview, a course that walks you through structure is the right first step, and Big Interview is designed for exactly that reader. If you already know the shape of a good answer but have not said yours out loud under pressure, more lessons will not close that gap. Reading answers in your head feels like preparation until the first live question arrives; Mock Interview Pro exists for the saying-it-out-loud part.

Big Interview's audience shows in its product. Its homepage speaks to career centers, state workforce agencies, military transition programs and returning citizens, and its signup page includes a school picker. Mock Interview Pro sells directly to the candidate and assumes an interview is already scheduled.

Can you try Big Interview or Mock Interview Pro before paying?

You can try Mock Interview Pro's feedback free on typed answers; you cannot try any part of Big Interview's practice without a paid plan or a school license. We checked both on September 18, 2026.

On Big Interview, every button on the homepage led to the pricing page. After we created an account, the next step, Select Plan, listed only the three paid plans, each with the amount billed today, and no trial. Without a plan, opening the app sent us back to the login page. The only free thing for an individual is an email course, which we signed up for, although our disposable inbox could not receive it. The select plan screen is shown below.

Mock Interview Pro has two free options. The free interview plan takes about 20 screens and an email, lists your company's interview rounds with sources, and builds a practice plan before the paywall; it does not let you answer a question. Separately, the public interview question pages have a free practice box that returns a score, one fix and a rewrite of a typed answer in seconds; the full test of it, including where its scores ran generous, is on our methodology page. Spoken mock interviews need a pass.

Which one prepares you for a specific company's interview?

Mock Interview Pro builds practice around a specific company and round, while Big Interview tailors by industry, role and seniority, with PracticeAI adding personalization from a resume or job description.

Big Interview's simulator draws on a library it says holds over 10,000 curated questions, filtered by industry, role and seniority level. Its PracticeAI feature page promises "Personalized questions based on your resume or a job description" and feedback on delivery and answer quality. We found nothing that researches a particular company's interview process, and its practice pages do not say the interviewer asks follow-up questions. We could not see any of it in action without paying.

Mock Interview Pro starts from the posting and the company. Its free interview plan lists the company's interview rounds, with sources, and the competencies for the round you pick. The $39 1-Month Pass buys 30 days and 3 voice mock interviews built from your job posting, each answer scored with a fix and a rewrite; the paywall labels this pass's feedback "Basic AI feedback", and the full company research report comes with the 1-Year and Lifetime Passes. Mock Interview Pro says its interviewer asks follow-ups based on your answers, which our free test could not verify.

For delivery, Big Interview says its feedback covers pace, filler words, eye contact and body language. Mock Interview Pro says it scores on-camera presence in video sessions, which need the 1-Year or Lifetime Pass; we did not test them. Recording yourself on video and getting scored on eye contact and pace is close to what a one-way video screen tests; if that is your format, our HireVue practice tools roundup compares options for it.

Is $39 for Big Interview the same as $39 for Mock Interview Pro?

The sticker price matches, but the terms do not: Big Interview's $39 starts a subscription with a 30-day guarantee, and Mock Interview Pro's $39 is a single charge with a 14-day refund. Here is the arithmetic at list prices on September 18, 2026.

• One interview next week. Big Interview: $39 for the 30-day BootCamp, which checkout labels a monthly subscription, so cancel from your account page if you do not want a second month. Mock Interview Pro: $39 once for the 1-Month Pass, 3 voice mock interviews over 30 days, no renewal.
• About a month of interviews. The same $39 on each side. On Mock Interview Pro, $59 once buys the 1-Year Pass instead, with unlimited voice mock interviews, 3 video sessions and the company research report.
• A search that runs for months. Big Interview's Accelerator is $99 for 3 months and renews; Mock Interview Pro's 1-Year Pass is $59 once for 365 days.
• Keeping it for good. Big Interview's Interview Pro plan is $299 once for lifetime access to lessons and practice; Mock Interview Pro's Lifetime Pass is $249 once, with unlimited voice and video mock interviews but no lessons.
• With a school license. Big Interview costs you nothing, which no paid tool can beat.

Renewal is the detail to watch. Big Interview's FAQ tells members to cancel renewal from the account page, and its lone Trustpilot review, from 2021, is about a renewal charge that came as a surprise; our Big Interview review covers how to cancel and claim the refund. Is a 170-lesson course useful with an interview in three days?

Usually not: with one to three days left, Big Interview's lessons are more than you can use, unless your school already gives you its practice simulator. If it does, open the simulator and record answers to the questions for your role; there is nothing to buy. If it does not, spend the evening answering likely questions out loud: the free interview plan shows the company's rounds, typed answers on the free interview question pages cost nothing, and a $39 pass adds spoken mock interviews built from the posting.

What do you give up by choosing Mock Interview Pro over Big Interview?

You give up the teaching and the extras. Mock Interview Pro has no video lessons, no answer builder, no resume or LinkedIn tools and no salary negotiation course. It also has no human coach in the loop, no live coding environment and no mobile app, and on the $39 pass there are no video sessions, so no on-camera presence feedback.

What you gain is practice aimed at one job: questions from the posting and the company's rounds, answered out loud, with a fix and a rewrite for each answer. If you have Big Interview free through school, the two can work in sequence: its lessons for the basics, then spoken practice for the job once an interview is scheduled.
