Which interview practice tools have a real iPhone or Android app?
Fewer than the App Store results suggest. This page is only about practicing on a phone; for the full comparison on any device, see best AI mock interview tools. As of September 18, 2026, here is what each tool we cover offers on a phone, based on store listings and each vendor's own pages:
- Native apps on both iOS and Android: ChatGPT and Google Gemini (Gemini Live). LockedIn AI, a live interview copilot with a mock mode, lists iOS and Android apps on its site.
- iPhone only: Huru (iPhone and iPad, last updated December 2024; its Google Play listing returned a 404).
- Listed by the vendor, not found in the store: Verve AI lists an iPhone app we could not find in the App Store on our check date.
- Mobile browser, no app: Aced (formerly Exponent), whose AI mock interviews work in mobile browsers, and ParakeetAI, a copilot that says it runs on iOS and Android through the mobile web.
- Desktop browser or desktop app, no phone app: Mock Interview Pro, Yoodli, Interviews by AI, Big Interview and interviewing.io are web tools; Yoodli's homepage mentions a mobile app, but we found no store listing. Final Round AI's practice mode runs in its macOS and Windows apps.

Why did we check phone apps from a desktop browser?
Our test runs in an automated desktop browser, and we do not install apps, so the observations below come from each product's web version, not its phone app. We included every tool we cover that you can use for interview practice on a phone, through a native app or a mobile browser, plus one web-only tool for readers who will end up practicing at a laptop. Each product we could get into went through the same checks described on how we test: one Senior Product Manager candidate, the same three questions and two deliberately average answers, run on free tiers without paying.
Huru and Mock Interview Pro let us practice. Aced, LockedIn AI and Verve AI blocked our automated browser at signup with human checks, which our own site's check also failed. In a regular Chrome window all three let us sign up, but their mock interviews take spoken answers and we practiced no answer in any of them. ChatGPT and Gemini are listed from OpenAI's and Google's documentation, because a general assistant's result depends on the prompt a candidate writes. Store ratings are quoted as the store shows them, with the date.
We left out copilots with no phone app (Final Round AI, Beyz AI, Sensei AI); they are covered in AI interview copilots compared. Tools we have not covered yet include VirtualSpeech and TalkDrill, which also appear in searches for interview practice apps.
Which app fits the way you will practice on your phone?
Pick by the phone you have and the kind of interview you face. Prices are as of September 18, 2026.
- You want to practice out loud on a commute, free: ChatGPT or Gemini Live, with your posting pasted into the prompt.
- Your next step is a recorded one-way video screen and you have an iPhone: Huru records on the device and plays your answers back.
- Tech or product loop, phone only: Aced runs its AI mock interviews in a mobile browser on the Expert plan.
- You want a scored mock in a native Android app and accept a copilot product: LockedIn AI lists one, with no refunds once a subscription starts.
- You want the most free mock interviews and do not mind a web tool: Verve AI gives 5, but check the App Store before counting on its iPhone app.
- You will finish at a laptop: Mock Interview Pro runs voice mock interviews from your posting in the browser, $39 once for 3; video starts with the $59 1-Year Pass.

What is hard to practice on a phone?
A phone is good for volume and bad for realism in three ways. Video interviews happen at a desk, and holding a phone at arm's length does not rehearse your framing, lighting or eye line on a laptop camera. Coding and system design rounds need a keyboard and an editor, which is why Aced's peer mocks and interviewing.io's AI Interviewer are desktop tools. And general assistants on a phone do not keep a rubric or score history, so you have to judge progress yourself from the transcripts.
No app replaces a person for judgment. If you tend to freeze with real people, schedule at least one live mock with a friend, a mentor or a peer platform before the day, and use the phone for the repetitions in between.
Which phone app should you practice on the night before the interview?
Use the app already on your phone rather than shopping for a new one. Open ChatGPT or Gemini, paste the job posting, and ask for one question at a time with a follow-up after each answer; answer out loud and ask for blunt feedback on the two answers that felt weakest. If the interview is a recorded video screen, record two answers on Huru or with your phone's camera and watch them back once. If the real interview is on a laptop, move there for the last run so your camera and sound setup get a rehearsal too. 1. ChatGPT
On a phone, ChatGPT Voice is the lowest-friction way to rehearse out loud: OpenAI's assistant has iOS and Android apps, voice starts from the icon in the message bar, and the conversation's transcript stays in the chat so you can reread it on the train. There is no interview mode, so the prompt does the work. Paste the job posting, ask for one question at a time, tell it to wait until you say you are done, and ask for blunt feedback at the end. Eligible subscribers can also turn on video in the iOS and Android apps, though OpenAI documents no scoring of on-camera presence. The free plan includes limited voice use with no fixed limit published; Plus is $20 a month with 3 hours of Live voice per rolling 24 hours, as of September 18, 2026. The trade-offs are no rubric or score history, and OpenAI says voice transcripts are not verbatim. OpenAI keeps voice audio with the chat for 30 days. We did not run ChatGPT through our script; this entry relies on OpenAI's documentation.
What works

2. Huru
Huru is the one purpose-built interview practice app on this list that we could confirm in the App Store, where Beatview, Inc.'s iPhone and iPad app averages 4.5 from 90 ratings, as of September 18, 2026. The format suits a phone: read a question built from a job listing or its question library, record a video answer on the device, and watch yourself back, with feedback that Huru says covers your answer, voice and facial expressions. A Chrome extension on your laptop can import a listing from any job board, which the iOS app picks up by scanning a QR code, according to Huru. Practice runs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French. App shoppers should know two things: the iOS app was last updated in December 2024, and the Google Play listing returned a 404 on our check date, so Android users need the website. What we observed
We tested Huru's web app, not the iOS app, on September 18, 2026. The first question built from our job description was on screen about 110 seconds after we landed on the homepage, with no card. There were no follow-up questions, the free view showed one Accuracy paragraph with no score, and the trial disabled practice after 2 recorded answers.
What works

3. Google Gemini (Gemini Live)
Gemini Live, the voice mode inside Google's Gemini app for Android and iPhone, is the phone option Google itself points interview practice toward: the old Interview Warmup address now redirects to a Grow with Google article that recommends Gemini Live to simulate a real-time, conversational interview. You set the interviewer up in a prompt, then talk naturally, interrupt, and share your camera during Live, though Google documents no feedback on on-camera presence. Gemini Live is included on the free plan, with limits that refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly cap; Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month for twice the free usage and Google AI Pro is $19.99, as of September 18, 2026. Two quirks matter for phone practice. Google's help page says Gemini Live is not in the Gemini web app for now, so the phone is the main way in (or Gemini in Chrome). And Gems cannot be used with Live, so a saved interviewer prompt does not carry into voice; paste your instructions each time. There is no rubric or score history. We did not test Gemini Live; this entry relies on Google's help pages.

4. Aced (formerly Exponent)
Aced (formerly Exponent) has no native iOS or Android app that we could find, but its help pages say its AI mock interviews work in mobile browsers, so a product, engineering or data candidate can run an audio mock from a phone. The membership from Exponent Labs, LLC also includes courses, a question bank, peer mock interviews (the network that was Pramp) and paid human coaching. Peer mocks are the part that needs a desk: they are desktop only and include a shared code editor. The phone-friendly AI interviewer is a beta on the Expert plan, with audio sessions of 10 to 20 minutes on one bank question and no technical rounds, and questions come from the bank rather than your posting. Expert costs $99 a month or $20 a month billed yearly; Pro, without the AI interviewer, costs $79 or $12 billed yearly; the free Basic plan gives 5 peer mocks a month, as of September 18, 2026. What we observed
On September 18, 2026 our automated desktop browser was blocked at email signup by a human check, which our own site's check also failed in the same browser. A regular desktop Chrome window got through to the free Basic plan and its free AI interviewer, which takes spoken answers only, so we practiced none. The public pricing page listed AI mock interviews only on Expert. We did not test Aced on a phone.

5. LockedIn AI
LockedIn AI lists its own iOS and Android apps on its site, and they include AI mock interviews that, according to LockedIn AI, end in a report of competency scores, which is why app-store searchers meet it. The core product from Cyber Gravity LLC is a live copilot that listens to the real interview and supplies answers and code; its paid plans sell Stealth Mode and a remote human helper called LockedIn Duo, and some employers, including Amazon, prohibit AI help in interviews (see our AI interview copilots comparison). The free tier's mock is described on its site as "One question, one answer, one scored report." Web prices are promo prices with code LOCKIN50: Unlimited General is $54.99 a month ($109.98 standard), as of September 18, 2026, and LockedIn AI's FAQ says in-app subscriptions on iOS and Android cost more because of store commissions. There are no refunds once a subscription starts, and App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Trustpilot marks its rating "unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines." See our LockedIn AI review.
What we observed
On September 18, 2026 our automated test browser could not finish email signup on the web: after the form, a Cloudflare human check went blank and no verification email arrived. A retry in a regular Chrome window on September 19 got into the free web app and its Mock setup, but START needed a microphone, so we practiced no answer. We did not install the mobile apps, so we could not test the mock interview on a phone.
What works

Verve AI says it has an iPhone app, but we could not find it in the App Store on September 18, 2026, so treat this pick as a web tool until you see the listing yourself. What earns it a place is the free allowance: VERVE AI Inc.'s forever free plan includes 5 AI mock interviews and 5 reports with no card, more free mocks than any other pick here. It also lists web, macOS, Windows and a Chrome extension, in 55+ languages. Standard costs $44.99 a month, $39.99 a month quarterly or $16.99 a month billed yearly, as of September 18, 2026, with unlimited AI mock interviews. Refunds cover only an unused subscription or a verifiable technical issue, and yearly plans are a commitment for the full year. Like LockedIn AI, it is a live interview copilot first; its homepage says "100% It's undetectable", and employer rules against AI help still apply. See our Verve AI review.
What we observed
On September 18, 2026 our automated test browser could not create a free account: the signup form returned "The CAPTCHA failed to load" twice. In a regular desktop Chrome window the web signup worked and we reached the free mock setup, but the mock is voice based and did not start for us, so we practiced no answer. We did not look for the app on a phone.

7. Mock Interview Pro (Our product)
Mock Interview Pro, our product, has no app in the App Store or Google Play, and we have not tested it in a phone browser, so on a phone list it is the tool for the session you move to a laptop. It belongs here for readers who searched for an app but will finish their prep at a desk, which is also where a video interview will happen. It runs spoken mock interviews built from your target job posting in the browser, then scores each answer and rewrites it with a prioritized fix. The entry pass is three spoken mock interviews from your posting over 30 days for $39, once, and the paywall labels its feedback "Basic AI feedback". Follow-up questions are a claim on Mock Interview Pro's own site that our free test could not reach. Video sessions start with the $59 1-Year Pass, which also adds unlimited voice for 365 days and the company research report. Passes are paid once with a 14-day refund, as of September 18, 2026. Free options are the free interview plan and typed practice on public interview question pages.
What we observed
In our desktop test on September 18, 2026, a typed answer on a free question page got a score, one improvement point and a rewrite in 7.2 seconds. The scores ran generous (65 and 60 on deliberately vague answers). We did not test it on a phone and could not reach the paid voice interviews.

Yes, but fewer than search results suggest. As of September 18, 2026, ChatGPT and Gemini have Android apps, and LockedIn AI lists Android and iOS apps on its site. Huru's Google Play listing returned a 404, so Android users need its website. Aced's AI mock interviews work in a mobile browser without an app. Yoodli's homepage mentions a mobile app, but we found no store listing.
Does Mock Interview Pro have an iPhone or Android app?
No. Mock Interview Pro is web only, with no app in the App Store or Google Play as of September 18, 2026. Voice mock interviews run in a desktop browser with nothing to install, and video sessions need the $59 1-Year Pass or higher. We have not tested the site on a phone, so plan to practice at a laptop.
Is there a free interview practice app?
Yes, but none is unlimited. As of September 18, 2026, ChatGPT and Gemini include limited free voice use in their iOS and Android apps, and Huru offers a free trial with no card, which stopped after 2 recorded answers in our web test. Verve AI's free plan includes 5 AI mock interviews, though we could not find its iPhone app in the App Store.
Do interview apps cost more when bought through the App Store?
Sometimes. LockedIn AI's FAQ says its in-app subscriptions on iOS and Android cost more than on the web because of store commissions, and its refund policy says App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Compare the web price before you subscribe inside an app, and read the refund policy on each.
How we tested
On September 18, 2026 we ran the shared Senior Product Manager script on free tiers in an automated desktop browser with a simulated microphone and camera, without paying. We did not install mobile apps, so observations come from the web versions: Huru and Mock Interview Pro let us practice; Aced, LockedIn AI and Verve AI blocked our automated browser at signup, and a retry in a regular Chrome window (September 19 for LockedIn AI) reached each one's mock setup, where all three wanted spoken answers, so we practiced none. ChatGPT and Gemini were not run through the script; their entries rely on OpenAI and Google documentation. Huru's app availability comes from the App Store and Google Play on the same date; LockedIn AI's and Verve AI's apps are listed on their own sites, and we did not confirm LockedIn AI's store listings or find Verve AI's in the App Store.
