What job does Final Round AI do that Mock Interview Pro does not?
Final Round AI helps during the real interview and Mock Interview Pro helps before it: Final Round AI is a live interview copilot that listens to your real interview and shows suggested answers in a private window, while Mock Interview Pro is a practice tool you use before the interview to say your answers out loud and get them corrected. Final Round AI's homepage leads with its Interview CoPilot and a "Download the app" button, and its mock interview page now reads "AI Mock Interview is now Practice Interview inside Interview CoPilot". Practice exists there, but as a mode inside the copilot app.
That split decides most of the choice. If what worries you is blanking on a question in the moment, Final Round AI is designed for that moment. If what worries you is that you have never said your answer to "tell me about a conflict with a coworker" out loud, and the first time will be in front of the hiring manager, that is a rehearsal problem, and it is the more common one. Reading answers in your head feels like preparation until the first live follow-up arrives; Mock Interview Pro makes you say them under that pressure first.
A paid Mock Interview Pro session is a live voice interview in the browser: an interviewer built from your job posting, company and round asks the questions, listens, and follows up on what you said. In one voice session on a software engineer recruiter screen, after the candidate said he built "a compliance system there to handle a lot of traffic", the interviewer asked "And what was your specific role in building that compliance system and those observability dashboards?" That is the moment a copilot tries to rescue and a rehearsal prepares you for.
What can you practice for free on Mock Interview Pro and Final Round AI?
Neither tool let us speak an answer for free in our test on September 18, 2026. Mock Interview Pro gave us typed practice with feedback and researched our company's rounds; Final Round AI gave us no practice at all without its desktop app.
On Mock Interview Pro, the free practice box on the public product manager question page took a typed answer and returned feedback in 7.2 seconds, with no signup. The free interview plan researched seven interview rounds for our test company, citing 15 sources, before asking for any payment. The full company research report comes with the 1-Year and Lifetime Passes.
On Final Round AI, the post-signup page, the "Start practicing" button and the dashboard's Mock Interview card all sent us to the desktop app download. Its own pages also disagree on whether the free plan includes practice at all; our Final Round AI review sets out the three versions.
What feedback do Mock Interview Pro and Final Round AI give on an answer?
Mock Interview Pro quotes the exact sentence that weakened your answer and rewrites it; Final Round AI describes a session debrief that flags weak moments, which we could not reach without its desktop app. In a paid Mock Interview Pro session for an Amazon recruiter screen, the feedback highlighted the candidate's own line "So I think that I'm a lead engineering at my current position", explained that it left "not a crisp mental picture of your role", gave the fix (current title, team, then three buckets of ownership) and showed the answer rewritten.
The session debrief then did three things a candidate can act on the same evening. It gave a straight verdict ("This interview likely doesn't advance you") with a readiness score, it quoted the strongest line back ("I own the whole life cycle of development"), and it named one focus for the next session: "Tighten recruiter-screen delivery". Final Round AI describes its practice feedback as a debrief after each session that flags your weakest moments as targets to drill again. One r/csMajors thread about interview tools describes Final Round's feedback as feeling "kind of vague" (Reddit); treat a single comment as a data point, not a verdict.
How much does Final Round AI cost for one interview compared with Mock Interview Pro?
For a one-week or one-month prep window, Mock Interview Pro costs $39 once and Final Round AI costs $150, at list prices on September 18, 2026. Here is the arithmetic.

Refunds differ more than prices. Mock Interview Pro's paywall says "14-day refund, no forms, no questions. Just email us." and that passes do not auto-renew. Final Round AI's refund policy gives a 72-hour window, once per customer, and voids it once you have had two or more sessions longer than 30 minutes in the billing period.
Is it risky to use Final Round AI in a real interview?
Using Final Round AI during a real interview can break employer rules that do not apply to practice beforehand: Amazon's recruiter guidance, reported by Business Insider and IT Pro, says candidates can be disqualified for using AI tools during interviews unless explicitly permitted. Final Round AI markets its copilot as "100% invisible. 100% undetectable", while its own FAQ says screen capture protection "is not a guarantee" against detection.
Some candidates use copilots anyway, and some use a copilot and a practice tool together. The practical question is what each employer on your list allows. Practice carries none of that risk: there is nothing running during the call to detect, and the answers you rehearsed are yours.
What should you do tonight if the interview is in a few days?
Buy the shortest thing that lets you speak your answers out loud tonight and in a browser you already have. What changes if you switch from Final Round AI?
Switching means moving from a subscription and a desktop app to a browser and a one-time pass. Nothing needs installing, but expect a setup flow first: in our test, Mock Interview Pro's free interview plan asked about 20 screens of questions on the role, company and posting, plus an email, before showing the plan and the passes. Nothing carries over from Final Round AI Goals or resumes, so re-enter the target role. Which is better for coding interviews, Mock Interview Pro or Final Round AI?
Final Round AI covers more of a coding loop: its practice mode includes coding and system design scenarios, and its copilot runs inside HackerRank and CoderPad. Mock Interview Pro has no live coding environment, so it fits the behavioral, experience and role questions around a coding round rather than the coding itself.
Does Mock Interview Pro help during the real interview?
No. Mock Interview Pro is built only for practice before the interview, so it has no overlay, no stealth mode and nothing running during the real call. That is also why nothing about it can be detected or banned: the practice ends before the interview starts, and what you rehearsed stays with you in the room.

How we tested
On September 18, 2026 we checked both products on their free tiers. On Final Round AI we created a free account in desktop Chrome, tried every web entry point to practice, and read the plans page, FAQ and refund policy; we did not install the desktop app or use the live copilot in any interview. On Mock Interview Pro we went through the free interview plan flow and submitted typed answers in the free practice box, and on September 19, 2026 we reviewed the founder's own paid voice and video sessions on production for follow-ups, per-answer feedback and debrief timing. We make Mock Interview Pro.
On September 18, 2026 we tested Final Round AI on the Free plan in desktop Chrome, with no payment details entered. We signed up with email and password (a 6 digit email code arrived in about 30 seconds); a daily discount modal opened on top of the signup form. After verification the site sent us to a desktop app download page. Every web entry to practice (the AI mock interview page, the dashboard Mock Interview card) also redirected to the download page, and the web dashboard labels itself a legacy page being retired. The web Interview Room for the live copilot loaded, with its mock interview panel saying to continue in the app. The plans page revealed an 8% daily offer with a 24 hour countdown and showed Monthly $138, Quarterly $76.67 a month, Yearly $23 a month and Premium MAX $38.33 a month with the offer applied (list prices $150, $83, $25, $42). We stopped after about 4 minutes and 8 steps without reaching a practice question. We could not test question quality, follow-ups, feedback, debriefs or speed, because practice runs only in the macOS or Windows app, which we did not install, and the homepage lists practice interviews under the paid plan. We did not test the live copilot in a real interview, by rule.
