What job does Final Round AI do that Mock Interview Pro does not?

Final Round AI helps during the real interview and Mock Interview Pro helps before it: Final Round AI is a live interview copilot that listens to your real interview and shows suggested answers in a private window, while Mock Interview Pro is a practice tool you use before the interview to say your answers out loud and get them corrected. Final Round AI's homepage leads with its Interview CoPilot and a "Download the app" button, and its mock interview page now reads "AI Mock Interview is now Practice Interview inside Interview CoPilot". Practice exists there, but as a mode inside the copilot app.

That split decides most of the choice. If what worries you is blanking on a question in the moment, Final Round AI is designed for that moment. If what worries you is that you have never said your answer to "tell me about a conflict with a coworker" out loud, and the first time will be in front of the hiring manager, that is a rehearsal problem. Mock Interview Pro exists for that second problem: reading answers in your head feels like preparation until the first live follow-up arrives, and saying them out loud is the part it makes you practice.

A paid Mock Interview Pro session is a voice interview in the browser: an AI interviewer asks questions built from the job posting and round you entered, and you answer out loud. Mock Interview Pro says every spoken answer comes back with a score, one prioritized fix and a rewritten version of what you said, and that its interviewer asks follow-up questions based on your answer. Our free test saw that feedback format only on typed answers and could not verify the follow-ups, because spoken sessions need a pass.

What can you practice for free on Mock Interview Pro and Final Round AI?

Neither tool let us speak an answer for free in our test on September 18, 2026. Mock Interview Pro gave us typed practice with feedback; Final Round AI gave us no practice at all without its desktop app.

On Mock Interview Pro, the free practice box on the public product manager question page took a typed answer and returned feedback in 7.2 seconds, with no signup. The free interview plan listed seven interview rounds for our test company after asking for an email, then ended at the paywall without letting us answer anything. The free plan lists your company's interview rounds; the full company research report comes with the 1-Year and Lifetime Passes.

On Final Round AI, the post-signup page, the "Start practicing" button and the dashboard's Mock Interview card all sent us to the desktop app download. Its own pages also disagree on whether the free plan includes practice at all; our Final Round AI review sets out the three versions.

What feedback do Mock Interview Pro and Final Round AI give on an answer?

In our test on September 18, 2026, Mock Interview Pro returned a score, one prioritized fix and a rewritten version of a typed answer 7.2 seconds after we submitted it; Final Round AI's practice feedback, a debrief after each session, was not reachable without its desktop app. On both typed answers, Mock Interview Pro's fix explained why it matters and how to apply it, and the improved version edited our own text with the additions highlighted.

It had weaknesses we would flag on any tool. Our deliberately vague answers scored 65 and 60, both labeled "SOLID", which is generous. The critique said the answer "lacks specific details" without quoting a line, and the improved versions kept filler, used placeholders such as "<specific functionality>", and in one case added a claim our answer never made. It also did not notice that one answer did not fit the question asked. The paid voice mock interview, which our site says asks follow-ups, was out of reach on the free tier.

Final Round AI describes its practice feedback as a debrief after each session that flags your weakest moments as targets to drill again. One r/csMajors thread about interview tools describes Final Round's feedback as feeling "kind of vague" (Reddit); treat a single comment as a data point, not a verdict.

How much does Final Round AI cost for one interview compared with Mock Interview Pro?

For a one-week or one-month prep window, Mock Interview Pro costs $39 once and Final Round AI costs $150, at list prices on September 18, 2026. Here is the arithmetic.

• One week of prep, one interview. Mock Interview Pro: the 1-Month Pass at $39 covers it with 3 voice mock interviews and 30 days of access, without video and without the full company research report. Final Round AI: the shortest paid term is the Monthly Plan at $150, which auto-renews unless you cancel. The yearly plan's $25 a month headline is billed as about $300 upfront.
• One month of prep, several interviews. Mock Interview Pro: $39 for the 1-Month Pass, or $59 once for the 1-Year Pass if you want unlimited voice mock interviews, 3 video sessions and company research. Final Round AI: still $150 for the month, or about $250 upfront for a quarter at $83.33 a month.
• Months of steady interviewing. Final Round AI's yearly plan, at about $300 upfront, is its lowest monthly rate. Mock Interview Pro's 1-Year Pass at $59 once covers 365 days with unlimited voice mock interviews and 3 video sessions; the Lifetime Pass at $249 once adds unlimited video.

Refunds differ more than prices. Mock Interview Pro's paywall says "14-day refund, no forms, no questions. Just email us." and that passes do not auto-renew. Final Round AI's refund policy gives a 72-hour window, once per customer, and voids it once you have had two or more sessions longer than 30 minutes in the billing period.

Is it risky to use Final Round AI in a real interview?

Using Final Round AI during a real interview can break employer rules that do not apply to practice beforehand: Amazon's recruiter guidance, reported by Business Insider and IT Pro, says candidates can be disqualified for using AI tools during interviews unless explicitly permitted. Final Round AI markets its copilot as "100% invisible. 100% undetectable", while its own FAQ says screen capture protection "is not a guarantee" against detection.

Some candidates use copilots anyway, and some use a copilot and a practice tool together. The practical question is what each employer on your list allows; the detection evidence on both sides is in our review.

What changes if you switch from Final Round AI?

Switching means moving from a subscription and a desktop app to a browser and a one-time pass. Nothing needs installing, but expect a setup flow first: in our test, Mock Interview Pro's free interview plan asked about 20 screens of questions on the role, company and posting, plus an email, before showing the plan and the passes, and it does not let you answer a question until you buy a pass. Nothing carries over from Final Round AI Goals or resumes, so re-enter the target role. If you are leaving because of a charge you did not expect, check the 72-hour window on Final Round AI's refund policy first, since it runs from the charge date.
